About us

Ristorante Roma (whose original name was to be Trattoria Roma, is modeled after the trattoria model - where the style is less formal than a restaurant, the service is casual, and the emphasis is on a steady clientele rather than on haute cuisine.  The food is modest but plentiful (mostly following regional and local recipes) and in some instances is even served family-style (i.e. at common tables).

Those who truly understand Italian dining, understand that spaghetti is not served with meatballs, and that the food is served a certain way. Another misconception is that Italians eat only pasta and meat, however Italy is surrounded by the sea on three sides, so Italians also eat plenty of fish.

Chef and owner Alex Petrache makes all the sauces from scratch daily, he also makes his own Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Ristorante Roma uses combination of fresh local ingredients as well as imported ingredients. Alex spent over 17 years as a cook in Rome. All the recipes used are the authentic italian recipes, not those that have been americanized.
